WebPT PPS
WebPT provides web-based electronic medical record (EMR) and practice-management software for physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, from single-provider clinics to national, multi-location organizations. I served as Interim CMO during my tenure.

In a 2022 WebPT market survey, 67% of respondents said that they prefer to assemble their own software package, rather than buy a pre-selected bundle. When designing the company’s presence at the APTA Private Practice Section Trade Show, I thought, what better metaphor for WebPT flexibility and modularity than LEGO, the original build-anything-you-can-imagine system?
After all, the brightly colored bricks are intuitive (we all know how to use them), flexible (they can be combined and configured in nearly limitless ways), and scalable (with enough bricks, you can build structures of any size).
The six-foot-tall side wall of the exhibit booth was hand-built from oversized interlocking bricks, providing a backdrop for the DIY mural wall on which visitors were invited to add their own LEGO creations. The large modular bricks also were used to build two custom concierge stands, where hosts directed visitors to the best resource for their questions.
At a smaller nearby booth, we featured the recently launched WebPT Billing, leveraging the same LEGO-style modularity theme and set apart with the same vibrant green palette as the marketing campaign launched a month earlier.
Prior to the event, we sent a direct mail package containing a LEGO-inspired “stress ball” and a QR-enabled postcard inviting attendees to help us build something great together at PPS. The QR code led to a landing page on which visitors entered a drawing to win prizes awarded during the show.
Four demo stations anchored the opposite side wall of the space, giving visitors a live view of WebPT software in action. When not in use, demo monitors displayed a looping animation that illustrates the seamless integration of products and the ability to tailor the platform to a practice’s specific needs.
